The secret to lighting glossy products like the one above is gradient lighting. Adjusting the first slider simulates scrim lighting, creating gorgeous highlights that you see in fashion magazines.

Your renders will look a cut above the rest when you enable the dual gradient checkbox, es[pecially when lighting soda can and the like.

Add the fine details with the inverse dual gradient. (See top of toaster)

Enabling this checkbox creates a smooth gradient on either side.

When you enable that checkbox, a procedural octabox appears that is brighter towards the center and falls off toward the edges and creates soft lighting for pleasant food and food related renders, just like in real-life.
